Nodal Office Registration
Pr.AO shall submit duly filled application for registration in Annexure N1 to CRA for registration. If the application form is found to be in order, CRA shall register the PrAO and allot a PrAO registration number. On successful registration, CRA shall send intimation to PrAO about the details of registration and dispatch the User ID, I-PIN and T-PIN for accessing NPSCAN/CRA system and CRA call center.
Annexure N1

A CDDO will also be registered as a PAO in CRA system. PAO/CDDO shall submit the duly filled application for registration in Annexure N2 to its Pr.AO. PrAO shall verify and forward the application form to CRA. If the application form is in order, CRA shall register the PAO/CDDO and allot a PAO registration number. On successful registration, CRA shall send intimation to PAO/CDDO about the details of registration. CRA shall allot and dispatch the User ID, I-PIN and T-PIN for accessing NPSCAN/CRA system and CRA call center. If PrAO has not yet been registered at CRA, it shall register itself prior to forwarding the PAO registration form. For this purpose, it will have to submit duly filled Annexure N2 to CRA through the PrAO.


Annexure N2

DDO shall submit the duly filled application for registration in Annexure N3 to its PAO. PAO shall verify and forward the application form to CRA along with a covering letter as per Annexure N4. If the application forms is in order, CRA shall register the DDO and allot a DDO registration number. On successful registration, CRA shall send intimation to PAO about the details of registration of DDO. If PAO has not yet been registered at CRA, it shall register itself prior to forwarding the DDO registration form Annexure N3.

Nodal Offices are identified by a unique number, i.e., Pr.AO /PAO/ DDO registration number that is allotted to them by the CRA on successful registration.

The Nodal Offices can download the relevant registration form from the CRA website www.npscra.nsdl.co.in

Nodal Offices shall provide all the mandatory details required in the registration form such as Name of the office, Address, official e-mail ID, Ministry details etc. The application has to be duly signed by the authorized signatory of the respective Nodal Office.

A Nodal Office can be registered in the following manner (under specific circumstances) depending upon the architecture adopted by the office:

  1. Pr.AO cum PAO: For registration, forms Annexure N1 and N2 shall be submitted to CRA by the Nodal Office. On successful registration, CRA shall allot PrAO registration number and PAO registration number to the PrAO.
  2. PAO cum DDO: For registration, forms Annexure N2 and N3 shall be submitted to CRA by the Nodal Office. On successful registration, CRA shall allot PAO registration number and DDO registration number to the PAO cum DDO.
  3. PrAO cum PAO cum DDO: For registration, forms Annexure N1, N2 and N3 to CRA. On successful registration, CRA shall allot a PrAO registration number, PAO registration number and DDO registration number to the PrAO cum PAO cum DDO.

Nodal Office can reset the I-PIN online through CRA website www.cra-nsdl.co.in. The Nodal Office can reset the I-PIN using any of the two options :

  1. Reset password using secret question: If the Nodal Office has selected a secret question, the office can reset the password by using this option.
  2. Instant Reset I-PIN: If the Nodal Office has not selected any secret question, the office can select this option. The detailed procedure is available on CRA website www.npscra.nsdl.co.in

The Nodal Offices shall notify CRA about change in the details registered with CRA by sending a written request containing details of the change. In case of change in details of a PAO or PAO cum DDO, the request has to be authorized by the respective Pr. AO whereas in case of change in details of a DDO, the request has to be authorized by the respective PAO. In case of the PrAO, the request shall be directly sent to CRA. On receipt of the request, CRA shall update the changes.
